This radio has a large call button that’s hard to press and not likely to get pressed by accident. That, I really like!

I’m an engineer, with a Radio license, so I like using radios. The production floor where I work uses FRS radios to communicate with each other. They’d have gotten me one, but I figured I’d find one that I liked better. Now people don’t have to come all the way upstairs to my office to get help, I’m a quick call away. Their radios are good, but normally last rough a single 8 hour shift. I find mine will handle all but 4 complete 8 hours shifts, and because they come as a pair, I easily get a whole week and charge at home. Mine is light weight, and fits in my shirt pocket when I’m walking around. And, with 121 privacy codes for each channel, I can easily find an unused channel for privacy chats.

I bought this for skiing. My partner and I typically will ski in separate areas. We stick each one of these in our front coat pocket and use it to communicate when we want to meet up. Range is sufficient. We can reach everywhere on smaller mountains. On larger mountains, from summit to base it works as long as you don’t have a ridge between you. Battery life is FANTASTIC. We’ve used them twice now (probably about 8 hours of On time and we had 20 or so separate conversations) and the battery is still showing as “full” on each.
I don’t need much. I don’t really care for features…. we pick a frequency, lock the radio, and that’s that. Lol. For this purpose, I can see this radio lasting a long time. Highly recommend!
