I’m a Border Patrol Agent work at a checkpoint and out in the brush depends on the assignment of the day. I have purchased the one that has the mic and earpiece and connects the radio directly. the listening part worked great but the mic came out muffled especially after having it for awhile not to mention trying to conceal the wires under the shirt, just a little more hassle when dressing up. I reconnected my shoulder mic and bought this which works outstanding! The only thing i did was switch to an ear mold because the one that comes with starts hurting a little after time. With the ear mold is way more comfortable and the sound quality to me seems to be way better as well!

I will go through one of these in about 3 months of 12 hour shifts before I have to get a new one. The amplifier will begin to fail where you have to dramatically increase your radio volume to be able to hear. Usually, using an air duster will remedy the issue, but only for about a week until the moisture buildup in the acoustic tube simply destroys the amplifier.
If these weren’t so cheap, I’d have found another solution by now. It’s cheap and it works, for a limited time.
