Bought this to have easy communication during a protection move across a few states. These radios are powerful! The range would fluctuate depending on the traffic. In some cases it would reach about 10 miles which is very impressive. The battery is okay, I wish it could last a little longer, but it lasted about 12 hours on a single charge being turned on for the duration
